HACKMAN CO-WRITES FIRST NOVEL
Gene Hackman was a late bloomer as
a movie star -- and now he's looking to become a published author.
His first novel, Black Star Rising,
a 19th-century ocean-going adventure he's co-written with underwater
archeologist Dan Lenihan, has been submitted to publishers in New York,
according to the trade paper Variety.
And if the book gets published, a
film deal would be the next step, according to agent Noah Lukeman, an
associate of Lenihan's.
There is no word on whether Hackman
would star.
Lenihan and Hackman met while scuba
diving, Variety said.
