Full Description
(excerpt from the Proposal)
"I
work in conjunction with MDs, chiropractors and acupuncturists in
developing a unique yoga therapy curriculum for patients that works with
specific injuries and disabilities. In doing this, I’ve learned that
patients with chronic aches and pains have found lasting relief with
simple Yoga postures and breathing techniques. Some have had recoveries
that they term "minor miracles."
Your
chiropractor will tell you, "You are as young as your spine is
supple." But if you have a serious bone, joint or spine problem,
the orthopedic surgeon will say that until your condition is severe
enough to need surgery, there is nothing he can do.
YOGA
FOR COMMON ACHES AND PAINS will move you away from surgery and toward a
supple body. In less than five minutes a day, and using only a few
movements, anyone can relieve most headaches, stiff necks, sore
shoulders and tormenting backs. Throughout the book, numerous
"mini" sequences (3, 4 or 5 poses) are suggested for specific
physical conditions. Breathing techniques are incorporated to calm the
central nervous system, reduce hypertension and other systemic
disorders, and diminish the symptoms of sinus conditions and asthma,
while building strength and stamina in low-energy sufferers and those
with challenged immune systems.
As
with my first book, How To Calm Down, the amount of time needed
is only five minutes in the morning and evening. Most of the
encyclopedic tomes on Yoga are much too dense for the new or early
student. YOGA FOR COMMON ACHES AND PAINS, easily accessible, offers more
depth than many books three times its length.
