2001), which was one of the most talked-about story collection of the decade.
His most recent story collection, STAY AWAKE,
will be published by Random House/Ballantine in
2012. He is also
author of the story collection FITTING ENDS,
which was reissued by Ballantine in 2002. He is under
contract with Ballantine for a new novel, UNTITLED
NOVEL (2014).
He was anthologized in BEST AMERICAN SHORT STORIES 1996 (and was listed in the "Distinguished Stories" section in 1990 and 1993) and anthologized in THE PUSHCART PRIZE 2000 (and was listed in their "Distinguished Stories" section in 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994 and 1995). He has been published in numerous magazines, including Story, Ploughshares and TriQuarterly, and has been the recipient of numerous prizes and honors.
